LORENA MAE HARRIS BURRI, 86, was a child of God and he sent the angels for her Friday evening, Feb. 4, 2011. She was born Dec. 7, 1924, in the Hutchinson Community of Independence County, Ark., daughter of the late Earl L. Harris and Elizabeth Brumbley Harris. George and Lorena were married on Oct. 6, 1945, at Vancouver, Wash. She retired from the Arkansas State Hospital, and worked at the Family Dollar Store for 10 years after retirement. She loved to crochet, grow flowers, and can vegetables from her garden, as well as talk to everyone. She was a member of Oak Park Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband George Burri, a son David William Burri, five sisters Monie Strother, Myrtle Candler, Hester Muns, Lucy Harris, Nina Candler, and two brothers, John and Lawrence Harris. One son Dale Burri, three generations of nieces and nephews, and her dog Snoopy survive her. Special friends: church family, Shirley Counts, Carl and Lila Brewner, Patti Amos, and Central Church of Christ Angel Food Ministry. A visitation will be held Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, (501)224-8300. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday the 9th at Oak Park Baptist Church, 8200 Flint Ridge Rd., with Pastor David Harris officiating.
