Melvin Denver Storey

Melvin Denver Storey, age 56, of Benton, Ark., died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011 at the Saline Memorial Hospice House. He was born on June 21, 1954 to his parents Melvin Lester and Naomi Louise Gravenmier Storey in San Francisco, Calif. Melvin was musically talented and loved playing the harmonica at his church. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he enjoyed working with kids. In addition, he enjoyed drawing and was a cartoon fanatic. Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Connie Storey; six children, Michael Storey, Connie "Michele" Miller (Scott), Adam Storey (Brandi), Amanda Leach (Brent), Aileen Storey and Sarah Franklin (A.J.); his father Melvin Lester Storey; four brothers, Steve, Martin, Philip and Ron Storey; two sisters, Melody Tucker and Teresa Haynie and 12 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother Louise Storey and two brothers, Robert and Darryl Storey. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 7, 2011 at the Otter Creek Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 13901 Quail Run Dr., Little Rock, Ark., 72210 (501) 455-0335. A visitation will be Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home, 10200 Hwy 5 North, Alexander, Ark., (501) 455-1067 and one hour prior to service time at the church.
