Stuart Blair, 74, of Smackover, went to be with the Lord on Feb. 5, 2011, at his residence. Born and raised in southern Mississippi, he moved to Smackover, Ark., in 1957 where he lived the remainder of his days. He was a loving husband, father and a proud grandfather. He passes on a legacy of love for God and His word, an example of commitment and hard work, and precious memories involving fishing and baseball. He never met a stranger. He is preceded in death by his son, Steve. He is survived by his wife of nearly 54 years, Audrey Blair of Smackover; a daughter, Dr. Susan Blair of Little Rock; two grandchildren, Steve Blair II and Joshua Blair of Smackover; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, at Calvary Baptist Church in Smackover. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday at Young's. Stuart did not want flowers for his funeral; so the family requests any remembrances be donated to the Steve Blair Benefit Fund c/o Smackover State Bank, 708 N. Broadway, Smackover, Ark., 71762 to help with medical costs of his grandson recovering from a severe head trauma. An online guest registry is available for viewing at www.youngsfuneralhome.com.
