Marguerite (Peggy) Frances Herring, age 90, of Little Rock passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2011. She was born on August 27, 1920 to Frederick and Marguerite Herring. The Herrings moved to Little Rock in the late 1920's into the original Dice house in Hillcrest, also known as the first radio station in Little Rock. Her father, Frederick Jerome Herring, was a civil engineer for the city of Little Rock until his retirement and was instrumental in the design of the city streets of Little Rock as well as the demarcation of Baseline. Peggy was a lifelong devoted member of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral where she also volunteered in years past. She was a devoted sister and aunt and will be missed dearly by her family. She is survived by her sister, Elizabeth (Betty) McDermott, her niece, Janis G. McDermott, and her nephew, John W. McDermott and his wife Narisa, and her great-nephew, John Marsden McDermott. There will be a graveside service on Friday, February 11 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel Mausoleum at Roselawn Cemetery on Asher Avenue.
