Viola Cole Barton

Viola Cole Barton, 87, of El Dorado, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2011, at Hudson Memorial Nursing Home. She was born in Franklin, Texas, on July 16, 1923, to Ralph Duke and Lucy Aline Nale Cole. She was a member of St. Andrews Cumberland Presbyterian Church, also she loved crossword puzzles, helping and serving others, and helping at churches and Bible schools. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rev. John G. Barton; one daughter, Martha Barton; four brothers and one great-grandchild, Brandon Deal. Survivors include three sons, Doug Barton of Maumelle, Ark., Jim Barton and wife, Cathy, of Huttig, Ark., and Mark Barton of El Dorado; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday, February 10, 2011, at Young's. Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Friday, February 11, 2011, at Young's Chapel with Rusty Pedigo officiating and Dr. Dan Loomis assisting. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors. Memorials may be made to March of Dimes, 1501 N.
