Jackie Dee (Southerland) Pratt

Jackie Dee (Southerland) Pratt, 69, of Mahomet died of cancer on Saturday (Feb. 5, 2011) at home surrounded by family and friends. She was born on Oct. 25, 1941, in Drasco, Ark., the only daughter of the late Reba and Dewitt Southerland. She graduated from Humboldt Airline Academy and continued college courses late into her life. She married Lawrence L. Pratt on Aug. 15, 1963, in Drasco, Ark. She worked for Delta Airlines as a reservation agent for over 30 years. When Delta Airlines closed their Chicago office, she continued to work as a corporate travel agent for another 10 years until retiring in 2004 when they moved to Mahomet. Sewing, painting, traveling, fishing, and spending time with her grandchildren were her greatest passions. Jackie was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Ralph, an infant child, and Randall Southerland, both of Drasco, Ark. She is survived by her husband, Larry Pratt of Mahomet; her brother and sister-in-law, Randolph and Maye Southerland of Auburn, Calif.; her daughter and son-in-law, Marisa and Steve Anstey of Mahomet; her son, David Pratt of Arlington, Va.; and four grandchildren, Zachary and Haley Ware of Mahomet, and Emma Grace and William Pratt of Arlington, Va. she was a devout Christian and member of the First Baptist Church in Mahomet. Following cremation, two memorial services will be held: The first memorial will be held at the First Baptist Church in Mahomet at 2 p.m. Feb. 12. The second memorial will be held at Pleasant Ridge Union Church on Center Ridge Road in Ida, Ark., at 2 p.m. Feb. 19.
