Clarence Jackson Brown, 74, of Fordyce, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday February 8, 2011. Mr. Brown was born in Bearden, Ark. on January 10, 1937 to the late Lewis J. & Katie Belle Clemons Brown. Mr. Brown was a Trucking Broker Agent. He served with the Gideons for over 30 years, was a Deacon at the First Baptist Church in Fordyce for 35 years, becoming an honor life Deacon in Oct. 2010. Mr. Brown honorably & faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force. He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Brown of Fordyce, Ark.; a son John Ed Brown of Washington, N.C.; a daughter, Susan Muse & her husband Mike of Bossier City, La.; a granddaughter, Jennifer Brown of Washington, N.C. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by an infant son, Darren Jackson Brown, a brother, James A. Brown, & two sisters, Ann Brown, & Billie Harper. Funeral services will be 2 p,m,, Saturday, February 12, 2011 at the Benton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Stoney Point Cemetery, with the Rev. Stacy Reed officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Friday evening at the funeral home in Fordyce. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.
