Ira Leon Turner

Ira Leon Turner of Conway, age 64, passed from this life Feb. 9, 3011. He was a tank commander at age 19 and a decorated veteran of the Vietnam War, earning three Bronze Stars and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He also served his country in South Korea. He was born Dec. 11, 1946 to Arnold Turner and Verda Hibbons Turner, both deceased also deceased: Grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Turner and Mr. and Mrs. Hibbons. Left to cherish his memories are three children: Danika (Joe) Fretz, Ira Flint (Denise) Turner and Jana (John) Motes; five grandchildren, Radayana (Benny) Ramos, Jake and Max Turner, Drew and Cody Motes, whom he loved very much; two great-grandchildren, Xander and Haven Ramos, who was the apple of his eye; one sister, Sheila (John) Askew and her children, Tommy, Jimbo (Paula) and P'nut; two brothers, Tommy Hamilton and his children, Tommy Jr. (Angela) and Slade, Arnold Dee Turner and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. He loved all his family very much. "Dad you are and always will be loved and missed very much!" John 3:16. We would also like to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff who took excellent care of him at the Veterans Hospital.
