Calvin Hassel Huneycutt

Calvin "Hassel" Huneycutt, age 86, of Rogers, Ark., formerly of Arkadephia, AR died Saturday, February 12, 2011. Born in Manchester, Arkansas, on April 26, 1924, he was the son of Leonard Garfield and Annie Lee Huneycutt. A WWII veteran, Hassel retired from the US Army in 1973. After 10 years as a maintenance specialist, he also retired from the Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia. He is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Rosemary, son, Gregg Alan, five sisters, and seven brothers. He is survived by a son, Lt. Col. Marc Huneycutt (Ret.), of Rogers, Ark.; grandson, Chad, of Atlanta, Ga.; two great-grandchildren, Caleb and Allyson; one brother; Terral Dean Huneycutt of Dallas, one sister; Lucille Purifoy of Malvern, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at 1pm at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home with Brother Gary Harvey and Elder Vernon Lee officiating. Graveside service will follow at Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
