Bobby Gene "Bob" Brown, 77, of Cabot died Wednesday, February 16, 2011. He was born March 16, 1933 to the late Haskell and Cecile Moore Brown in Star City, Wagoner County, Oklahoma. He was an active member of the Cabot United Methodist Church. Bob joined the Oklahoma National Guard in his teens and upon graduation from high school, went to work with the Department of the Navy in Washington D.C. He returned to Oklahoma and began employment with Long Bell Lumber Company, which later became International Paper. He attended college at Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma. After a 36 1/2 year career with the lumber company, he retired while District Manager of the Little Rock location. He started a second career with the Bank of Cabot, which lasted for 15 years. Upon retirement from the bank, he became owner of B&J Roasted Corn, a small enterprise where he enjoyed traveling to fairs and festivals throughout the state promoting his "world famous corn on the cob." Mr. Brown was a member of the Lion's Club, a 32nd degree Mason, and a member of the Homebuilder's Association. He was also an avid fisherman and bird hunter. He had a lifelong love of westerns with Roy Rogers being his favorite cowboy. He also enjoyed watching his Oklahoma Sooners and St. Louis Cardinals. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard "Dick" Brown. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jeraldine; his children, Robert and P.J. of Cabot and Michael and Vickie of Bentonville; granddaughters, Stephanie and Angela; one grandson, Christopher; a brother, William and his wife Mary Ann; a sister, Mary Kay and her husband Bill Martin, and a number of much-loved nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Cabot United Methodist Church with Rev. Beth Waldrup officiating. Visitation will be 6–8 p.m., Friday evening at Cabot United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Cabot United Methodist Church, P.O.
