Lola Dee Bayliss Jackson, age 95, of Sheridan, Arkansas, was born October 19, 1915 and went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on Feburary 15, 2011. She was the youngest of six children born to the union of Willie Tucker Bayliss and Susan Elizabeth Sutton Bayliss of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She was married on October 1, 1948 to Louis Andrew Jackson Jr. of Sheridan, Arkansas. To that union three children were born. She was a beautition in her younger years, later working at the coffin factory in Pine Bluff, then for Ben Pearson's archery factory. When World War ll broke out she did her part and joined the ranks of Americas female working population, working at the Pine Bluff Arsenel to support the troops abroad. But the real challenging job she excelled with came along when she became a homemaker and mother. As her children matured she again returned to the work force working several years at the Sheridan West Bend company. She was a life time member of the Sheridan chapter Ladies Auxiliary of both the DAV and the VFW. Early in their married life she and her husband Louis, were baptised into Christ and began meeting with the Thorntons, Zinns, Mayhughs, Padgets, and other members of the Jackson family who were the forerunners of the church meeting in Sheridan today. Both Louis and Lola were well known as members of this congregation in each generation that has grown up here throughout the last 60 yrs. Lola's and Louis's dedication and attendance has been an example for many of our youth and adults as well. Its only just recently that her health has prohibited her from being on her favorite pew. Lola Jackson was preceded in death by her parents, Willy T. Bayliss and Susan E. Bayliss. By her three sisters, Clara M. Hopkins, Mildred B. Ashcraft, and Willie Corine Abbott. By her two brothers, Alvin Bayliss and Milford Bayliss. By her cherished stepmother, Lula Gifford Bayliss, affectionally known as "Tour". More recently her beloved husband Louis Jackson also preceded her. She is survived by a daughter, Janice Jackson, by two sons with their wives, Larry and Carolyn Jackson, and Louis Andrew Jackson lll, and wife Diana, of Sheridan. Also she is survived by eight grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews and a fellowship of christian brothers and sisters, along with a host of other relatives, friends and acquaintances. Arrangements are made with Memorial Gardens of Sheridan, Arkansas. Services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011. Interment will follow at Jackson Cemetery, Hwy. 46 East. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
