Shirley R. Hooks

Shirley R. Hooks, 80, of Benton passed away February 17, 2011 in Benton. She was born June 29, 1930 to the late Harry and Florence (Rockow) Conrad in Chicago, Ill. She was member of First Lutheran Church in Benton, a Christian woman with a strong faith in God and considered the church her family. She would often seek peace and comfort through God. Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Hooks, her grandparents, Fred and Rose Rockow and daughter-in-law, Cindy Hooks. Survivors include sons, Ronald Hooks and Thomas Hooks, both of Benton; sister, Marilyn Cordero of Schiller Park, Ill, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 20, 2011 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home in Benton. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m., Monday, February 21, 2011 at First Lutheran Church in Benton Rev. James Burns officiating. Interment will follow at New Rosemont in Benton.
