Ada Belle (Gowan) Humphrey, 85, of Searcy, passed from this life on Sunday, February 20, 2011. She was born September 29, 1925 in Garner, Arkansas to the late Robert and Ada (Lemon) Gowan. Mrs. Humphrey worked joyously with the First United Methodist Church wherever she lived all of her life and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Searcy. She possessed an open heart and home for helping family, neighbors and friends both close and abroad. Her parents and one brother, Robert Gowan, precede her in death. Survivors include her husband of almost 65 years, Thomas Humphrey of Searcy; two daughters, Cynthia Casey and husband Gary of Clarkston, Mich.; Michelle Thall and husband Robert of St. Helena, Calif.; three grandsons, Jacob Thall; Samuel Thall; Keenan Casey; one sister, Kay Jones of Beebe; two brothers, Beverly Gowan and wife Donna of Searcy; Larry Gowan and wife Brenda of Crossett; numerous nieces and nephews. Ada was loved by many. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home. Services will be 2 p.m., Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church in Searcy with Rev. Keith Goza officiating. Interment will follow at White County Memorial Gardens in Searcy.
