A beautiful and strong woman, April Patricia (Davis) Alexander, left this world on February 20th, 2011. She passed peacefully in her sleep with her husband John at her side. April was born on April 23, 1955 in Bentonville, Ark. to Samuel & Patricia Davis. Among the many jobs she worked she was primarily a carpenter at Walnut Fork and a bus driver at Deer School. She was a talented artist and musician who lived a full and adventurous life. April traveled around the world, even hiking across a glacier to the K2 base camp. She cooked with passion, often mixing up her famous potato salad by the cooler-full and she loved to laugh with friends around the kitchen table. She was an inspiring force and she always managed to meet all of life's challenges head on. April's memory lives on in her husband John Alexander, her daughters Crystal Davis, Kelly Southard, and Becky Gorbett, as well as her step-children Monica & Levi Alexander, her 14 grandchildren and step-grandchildren with one more arriving in 8 weeks, her siblings Sharon Ivey of Las Cruces, N.M., Judy Harper of Bella Vista, Ark., and brother Sam Davis of Seligman, Mo. There are also many other family members and good friends who will miss her loving spirit. There will be a celebration of life on Wednesday, February 23rd, at 1 p.m. in the Deer School Community Room in Deer, Ark. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Peace at Home in Fayetteville, Ark. or your local women's shelter.
