James Daniel "Dan" Reeves, 79, of Little Rock, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2011. He was born April 9, 1931 in Conway, Arkansas to George and Clara Matthews Reeves. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Betty Reeves Greenway of Little Rock. Dan received a Bachelors degree in Education from Arkansas State Teacher's College (UCA) and a Masters degree in Engineering from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers where he worked as a Mechanical Engineer for 30 years and was a member of Second Baptist Church in Little Rock. He loved playing the guitar, doing artwork, fishing, wood working and boat building. Dan was a good, kind, honest, hardworking, generous man who will be missed. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Virginia Doggett Reeves; sister-in-law, Ann Wycoff of Little Rock; nephews, Gregg Greenway of Stuttgart, Ark. and Blake Greenway of Bentonville, Ark. and a niece, Patrina Greenway of Conway, Ark. A graveside service will be held at Oakland Cemetery, 2101 Confederate Blvd., Little Rock, on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at 11:30 a.m., officiated by Rev. James Thomason.
