Regina Fratesi Sampolesi

Regina Fratesi Sampolesi, age 50, of Lake Village, died Monday, February 21, 2011, at Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville, Mississippi. She was born December 22, 1960, in Greenville, Mississippi and was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in Greenville and also a graduate of the University of Mississippi where she completed her graduate work to become a speech language pathologist. After working in private practice, she worked 27 years for Delta Regional Medical Center in Home Health/Hospice inpatient and rehabilitation. She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Talmadge and Lucille Burns of Ethel, Mississippi and paternal grandparents, Sam and Katie Fratesi of Leland, Mississippi. Survivors include her husband, William "Ned" Sampolesi of Lake Village; a daughter, Savannah Rose Sampolesi; a son, Samuel Charles Sampolesi and step-daughter, Amy (Bill) Barnes and grandson, Ashton William Barnes, all of Lake Village; her parents, Mack and Ollie Fratesi of Leland, Mississippi; three sisters, Rhonda (Jerry) Sanders of Collinston, Louisiana, Robin (Gary) Sistrunk of Ridgeland, Mississippi, and Reagan (Wade) Turner of Tribbett, Mississippi; nieces and nephews, Zach and Garrett Sanders, Rachel and Russell Sistrunk, Courtney, Catie, Chance and Laura Turner, Paige and Seth Ferri, Charles O'Fallon, Marci Adams, Janella Sampolesi and Fred Allen Henry. Her extended family includes the staff and co-workers of Delta Regional Medical Center and Kings Daughters Hospital. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 23rd. from 4 to 7 p.m. at Bishop Funeral Home Chapel with Rosary at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, February 24th, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Village with Father Theophilus Okpara, Father Charles Bucciantini of St. James Parish of Leland, Mississippi and Father Richard Somers of St. Joseph Parish in Greenville, Mississippi as celebrants. Interment will follow in St. Isadore Cemetery under the direction of Bishop Funeral Home of Lake Village. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Savannah and Sam Sampolesi College Fund at either Bank of Lake Village or Simmons First Bank of Lake Village.
