John J. Robbins Sr. of Little Rock, AR, died on February 22, 2011 at Saint Vincent Medical Center, Little Rock, AR at the age of 64. John will be remembered by those who knew him with many descriptive words depending on their relationship with him. John was a devoted husband, a proud father, a caring grandfather, a loyal friend, a compassionate provider for those in need. His faith permeated his life and was a pervasive influence on so many of those he encountered. John understood that relationships require understanding and understanding began with each individual with various backgrounds, interests and beliefs. He worked every day with the single purpose of continual discovery of his true self through grace as he endeavored to know, love, and serve God. Such was the foundational principle upon which he based his relationships with his family and colleagues. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Kay Berry Robbins, his four sons, John Jr. (Melissa), Ben, Fr. Tony, Charles, and two daughters, Kathryn Davis (Parker), and Jane Robbins; seven grandchildren: Zachary, Sarah, Luke, Andrew, Michael, Kayley Robbins and Olivia Davis; and four brothers, Felix (Pat), Jim (Noell), Jere, Gene (Kate), and three sisters, Martha Robbins (Walt Bowman), Mary Ellen Robbins, and Dorothy Poynor (Freddie); and his mother-in-law, Frances Gerhart Berry. He was predeceased by his parents, Felix Monroe and Blanche Mudd Robbins, his brother, William M. Robbins and grandchild, Poppy Davis. John was the President and owner of DataPath, Inc. of Little Rock, Ark. a software development firm that specializes in creating administration systems for employee benefit reimbursement plans. John grew the company from a fledgling start-up in the basement of his family residence. DataPath is recognized as one of the premier software solution providers in benefits administration and John was especially proud of the several patents the company garnered through his vision and leadership. Prior to the formation of DataPath, John used his knowledge as a Certified Public Accountant in various aspects of the savings and loan industry and public accounting. John was a veteran of the United States Army. John was born July 31st, 1946 in St. Louis, Mo. He attended Immaculate Conception Catholic elementary school in New Madrid, MO and received his high school education at Subiaco Academy, Subiaco, Ark. John received undergraduate degrees in Finance at the University of Memphis and in Accounting at The University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He acquired a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Hawaii. John was active in various professional organizations including the Arkansas Society of CPAs, the American Institute of CPAs, the Beta Gamma Sigma Business Society and was an active board member of the Employee Council on Flexible Compensation. He was a member of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, the Serra Club, and the Knights of Columbus. Visitation and Rosary at Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church, Thursday, February 24, 2011, at 7 p.m. The Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be on Friday, February 25, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Holy Souls Catholic Church, Little Rock, Ark., with his son, Father Tony Robbins, as main Celebrant.
