Joseph Clyde Tucker, 98, of Little Rock passed away February 22, 2011. He was born November 25, 1912 in Brewer, Missouri to the late Joseph Ervey and Myrtle Mary Tucker. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Bertie Simmons Tucker, his sister Mary Beulah Clyburn and brother Raymond (Roy) Tucker. He is survived by his wife Dolores Furnell Tucker; nieces, Colleen Knipping of Little Rock, Barbara Wucherpfennig of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Toni Castro of Santa Cruz, California; nephew, Fred Bates of Fredericksburg, Texas; great-niece and goddaughter, Deborah Rudolph and her husband James Rudolph of Little Rock; and many other great-nieces and nephews. Clyde was an adventuresome young man who enjoyed racing his motorcycle up to 100 mph, traveling, and trying many jobs including farming, lumber business and retail. He joined the army in World War II and returned from war to continue his flooring business, J.C. Tucker and Sons, which he owned for 30 years. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m., Friday, February 25, 2011 at Pinecrest Memorial Park with Rev. Allan Greer and Rev. Fred Bates officiating. Visitation will be at the graveside after the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Parkway Place Baptist Church, 300 Parkway Place Drive, Little Rock, Arkansas 72211.
