Robert Franklin Archer

Elder Robert Franklin Archer, Sr., 81, of Jacksonville, Arkansas passed away Sunday, February 20, 2011. He was born January 28, 1930 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Luther F. and Bessie Ellen Flanagin Archer. He surrendered to the ministry on August 3, 1958, was licensed on September 3, 1958 and ordained on April 21, 1962. He pastored churches in California and Arkansas for 40 years, pastored North Little Rock Missionary Baptist Church for 38 years and was an instructor at Missionary Baptist Seminary in Little Rock. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, LaVerne Cobb Archer; son, Robert F. Archer, Jr. and wife, Susan; grandson, Jacob Robert Archer, all of Jacksonville; brothers, S.C. Archer and wife Saundra, of Mabelvale, Terry Lee Archer and wife Marie, of Bigelow and Dennis Michael Archer, of North Little Rock; and sister, Pat Sanders, of North Little Rock. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Lois Virginia Archer, Jackie Jean Archer and; and brother, Paul Thomas Archer. Flowers or memorials may be made to Arkansas Kidney Foundation, 1818 N. Taylor, Suite 186, Little Rock, Arkansas 72207 or charity of choice. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday in the North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel.
