Dorothy Clifton

Dorothy Veletta Thrasher Clifton, age 84, of Benton, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011. She was the wife of 58 years to the late Thomas H. Clifton of Benton. Mrs. Clifton was a member of Highway Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry Thrasher and Bertha Etmus Thrasher; her husband; five brothers, Elbert, Roscoe, J.H., Lowell and Nowell Thrasher and four sisters, Susie Robards, Ora White, B.E. Edwards and Omega Baswell. She is survived by her two sons, John Tom Clifton and Randy Clifton Sr. both of Benton; brother, Henry D. Thrasher of Hensley; sister, Annie McCracken of Searcy and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 1 at Ashby Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 2 at Highway Church of Christ with burial at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Cabot. Family comments: She lived for her Lord and family. She will be sorely missed.
