Funeral services for (Retired) Major Alfred William Vincent, Jr. age, 79, of Ft. Worth, Texas will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Bonham, Texas. Rev. Larry Miller will officiate the service. Interment with Military Honors rendered by U.S. Air Force Honor Guard will follow at Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham, Texas. Major Vincent, Jr. passed away on January 1, 2011 at Ethicus Hospital in Grapevine, Texas. Alfred William Vincent, Jr. was born in Farina, Ill. on March 12, 1931 to parents Alfred William and Bessie (Broom) Vincent, Sr. He married Eva Maye (Prock) Vincent on August 24, 1985 in Bonham, Texas. She preceded him in death on April 24, 1993. He retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Major after 23 years of service with multiple recommendations and certificates. He also acquired two degrees from UT Arlington, one in Business and one in Accounting, and was of the Baptist Faith. Major Vincent is survived by son, Roy Newman of Ft. Worth, Texas; daughters, Charlotte Newman of Ft. Worth, Texas; and Rheta McKnight of Delight, Ark.; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Frank Vincent of Montverde, Fla.; and Tom Vincent of Xenia, Ill. Also preceding him in death are both his parents and sister, Betty. Pallbearers will be U.S. Air Force Honor Guard. Family visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Bonham, Texas.
