Mollie Mae White Jackson, age 93, died January 13, 2011 after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Mrs. Jackson was born November 12, 1917 in Bodcaw, Ark. to Henry Millard White and Rosa Maud Miller. She was a retired English and History teacher with the state of Texas School System. She was a member of Westside Church Christ. Mrs. Jackson lived a full and adventurous life. She was industruious, intelligent, an award winning cook, a seasoned traveler, a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother. She came from a family shaped by the Great Depression and she passed the lessons she learned during these hard times to her family who are very grateful to her for the never ending influence in their lives. Although she was tough, she had a joy for life that will not be forgotten. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George Clarence Jackson, her daughter Janis Jackson Morrison and her seven sisters Ida Lois Cantrell, Ottye Rebecca Elliott, Nobie Lucille Stoker, Zenobie Pullan, Paula Aileen Thrapp, LaDelle Satterfield, and Ruth Williams. Surviviors include her twin daughters, Jane and June Jackson, son-in-law, Gary Morrison, grandson, Damon Morrison, granddaughter, Shelly Morrison Spollen and grandson-in-law, Dr. John Spollen, and great-grandchildrenm Parker Morrison, Alexander Morrison and Anna Spollen. On January 17, 2011 at 11 a.m., visitation will be held at Chapelwood Funeral Home in Texarkana, Texas followed at noon by the funeral and then a private burial. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Arkansas Chapter for the National Alliance on Mental Illness at 1012 Autumn Road Suite 1 Little Rock, Ark. 72211 or arnami.org.
