Lyle Bruce Deaton

Lyle Bruce Deaton, 74, Loving husband and father peacefully left this world January 15, 2011 to be with his Lord and Savior. He was born to Elias A. and Carman Calley Deaton, July 24, 1936 in Gurdon, Arkansas. Mr. Deaton was a Master Electrician, Served in the 82nd airborne division of the United States Army and served his country in the United States Navy. He attended school and lived in the Gurdon area most of his life. Mr. Deaton was a member of the Trinity Assembly of God Church in Arkadelphia. He was a man of Faith that knew the bible from front to back. He was a talented guitarist, was great with details, Master storyteller, Known for his gift of gab and sense of humor. Mr. Deaton, is preceded in death by, his parents, brothers, Don and Sonny Deaton, daughter, Tammy Clair and grandson, Adam Clair. He is survived by, his wife, Betty Deaton of Arkadelphia, Ark., two sons, Don Deaton (Renee) of Arkadelphia, Ark., Lyle Deaton (Wendy) of Royal, Ark., one daughter, Teresa South (Ralph) of Oklahoma City, Okla., nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. There will be a visitation Wednesday, January 19, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. at Pharr Funeral Home of Gurdon. There will be a memorial service Thursday, January 20, 2011 at 2 p.m., with Pastor Randy Reynolds officiating at God's House, 1105 Main Street, Arkadelphia, Arkansas.
