George W. Grinder, 91, of Gravel Ridge, Ark. passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2011. George was born January 13, 1920 in Comanche, OK. He served in the US Army during WWII. He retired as a Steamfitter and was a member of the Local 155 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union, also was a Master Mason, Sylvan Hills Lodge #754. George will be missed by all that knew him. George shared his time with his family and friends he enjoyed fishing, gardening, building and fixing things. He was always ready to lend a hand to someone in need. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. She is survived by his loving wife of 70 years Lucille C. Grinder; one daughter, Georgia M. (Skip) Kersey; four sons, James R. Grinder, Danny W. (Nancy) Grinder, Jerry L. (Helen) Grinder and Dale W. (Kathy) Grinder; four sisters, Jessie Flemming, Willie Alexander, Johnnie Smith and Dorothy Williams; 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 16, 2011, at Roller-Owens Funeral Home Chapel (501-791-7400. A graveside will follow at Silver Hill Cemetery, St. Joe, Ark. at 4 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Friday, July 15, 2011 at the funeral home.
