David Wayne Easley

Funeral services for Staff SGT. David Wayne Easley, 33, will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, July 30, 2011 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Friday, July 29, 2011 at the funeral home. Staff SGT David W. Easley left this life to be with God on July 21, 2011. He was born May 1, 1978 in Shreveport, La. to David Easley and Janell Earwood Easley. He graduated from Marshall High School in 1996. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. At the age of 18 he left Marshall for boot camp at Camp Pendleton in San Diego, Calif. David served his country proudly for fifteen years. He served four tours in operation Iraqi Freedom and one in Enduring Freedom. Surviving David are his father and step-mother, David and Sondra Easley; sister, Lisa Walker; step-sister, Holly Griffin; step-brother, Cotey Griffin and wife Yesenia; nieces, Caitlyn and Kiersten Walker, and Karmen Griffin; nephew, Kurt Griffin; grandmother, Lee Easley and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
