Donna Mae White Harriss

Donna Mae White Harriss was born in Wenatchee, Wash. and rerared in Spokane. Donna's parents were Arleigh and halen White. Donna moved to Memphis in 195 where she met and married her husband of 57 years, Bobby E. Harriss. In 1989, Donna and Bobby moved to Cherokee Villave, Ark. Donna entered the presence of her God and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 2, 2011, at the age of 80. Donna was a prolific artist and painter, creating many beautiful oils and water colors throughout her life. Most of her artwork, however, was done for church backdrops, scenery and special events. She spent countless hours creating work for churches, often working all night long, and she was often working to late hours at the church. Donna taught sunday school, and she was also a mission mobilizer, teaching, encouraging and supporting mission involvement to take the message of Jesus Christ across the world. Her dedication to ministry through art and mission was only eclipsed by her own personal kindness and gentleness, motivated by the mercy and compassion of Jesus Christ. Donna is survived by her husband Bobby Harriss; her brother Quentin White of Spokane; her sons, Craig (Harry) Harriss, Bobby G. Harriss and E. Michael Harriss; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Visitation will held at the Tri-County Funeral Home in Highland, Ark. at Highway 62, 870-856-2705. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, June 5 at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Cherokee Village, Ark., where Donna was a member, located across Highway 62 from Tri-County Funeral Home. Donations in honor of Donna may be made to the International Mission Board at www.imb.org; 800-999-3113; IMB, 3806 Monument Ave., P.O. Box 6767, Richmond, Va. 23230-0767.
