Anna Lee Sorrells, age 92, of Amity, died Tuesday, June 7, 2011. She was born January 7, 1919, in Clark County, the daughter of Homer "Soda" Francis and Bessie Calloway Francis. On October 10, 1944, she was married to Dayton "D.M." Sorrells who preceded her in death on January 22, 1989. She came to Amity at the age of 1 month, arriving in a wagon pulled by a team of mules, and spent the rest of her life as a resident there, always being so proud to tell everyone she was from Amity. She was a member of the Amity United Methodist Church; a beautician; but spent most of her years devoting her time to taking care of her family, who she loved so deeply. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Sandra Sorrells of Lodi and Ritchie and Lynne Sorrells of San Antonio, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law, Sheena and Randall Coffman of Hopper; five grandchildren and their spouses, Tyler Sorrells and Dr. Trent Sorrells, and his wife, Amanda, all of San Antonio, Texas, Paige Sorrells Cowart and her husband, Jody, of Lodi, Evan Coffman of Orlando, Florida and Lance Coffman of Hopper; and two great-grandchildren, Ella and Eli Sorrells, both of San Antonio, Texas. Services will be at 10 a.m., Friday, in the Amity United Methodist Church with Bro. John McAnally, Bro. Paul Coy and Bro. Glen Harris officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home. Interment will be in Jones Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Randy Sorrells, Ritchie Sorrells, Randall Coffman, Tyler Sorrells, Dr. Trent Sorrells, Evan Coffman, Lance Coffman and Jody Cowart.
