Robert Dale Santifer Jr.

Robert Dale Santifer Jr. died on June 11, 2011 at his home in Texarkana, Ark. He was born on Nov. 29, 1957 in Columbia, S.C. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Dale Santifer Sr. He was of Baptist faith, and a member of Beech Street Baptist Church. He attended Church on the Rock, here in Texarkana. Dale was a graduate of Arkansas High School in Texarkana, and the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, with a major in business administration. He was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. There are three Robert Dale Santifers on the Senior Walk in Fayetteville. Robert Dale Santifer, Robert Dale Santifer Jr., and Robert Dale Santifer III. After graduation he entered into business with his father at Economy Lumber Company, and worked there for many years. He later worked as a stockbroker with IRA Epstein in Little Rock and Chicago. For the past 10 years he has been district manager with Darragh Company, a concrete construction company based out of Little Rock, Ark. Dale loved his work, and his customers that he met there. Dale was a sports enthusiast, especially the Arkansas Razorbacks, and never missed their games and an avid fan and former baseball player for the American Legion. He also enjoyed swimming, reading, and a "tasty" breakfast. He was an excellent cook in his own right, and loved to grill. He is survived by his son, Robert Dale Santifer III (Anne), and the love of his life, his grandaughter, Carly Anne, all of Little Rock. He is also survived by his mother, Shirley Lane and stepfather John Lane of Little Rock; brother Darrell Santifer (Debbie) of Taylor, Texas; stepbrother, Mark Lane (Lisa) of Charlotte, N.C., and stepsister, Allene Lane (Dave) of Maumelle, Ark.; uncles, Clyde Santifer of Shreveport, La., Charles Santifer of Texarkana, and Aunt Barbara Miner of Texarkana; niece Dara Santifer of Hutto, Texas, and nephew Brandon Santifer of San Diego, Calif., and several other relatives. The family would like to take this opportunity to say a special "thank you" to Pam Stone, for the love and care that she has given during this trying time. She was the "sunshine" in every day for him. Also to Rusty Stewart, Barbara and Quinton Miner, Willie Dixon, and Hospice of Texarkana. You are greatly appreciated. Services will be held on Monday, June 13, at 1 p.m. at Church on the Rock with Pastor John Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rusty Stewart, Quinton Miner Sr., Joey Peavy, Danny Peavy, Terry Kelly, and Steve Hickerson. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Texarkana or Church on the Rock.
