Louise Logan Hurst

Louise Logan Hurst passed away on June 11, 2011 in Bella Vista, Arkansas, just 5 days before her 99th birthday. Born June 16, 1912 in San Angelo, Texas to Max Logan and Alma Probst Logan, she graduated from Lake View High School in 1930. She married Buster B. Hurst on December 20, 1930. They were married for 66 years until his death in 1997 in Dallas, Texas. Mrs. Hurst spent most of her married life in Abilene, Texas where she was Deputy County Clerk for Taylor County from 1952 to 1965. While in Abilene she was a member of the First Baptist Church and a life member of the Abilene Chapter 30 Order of the Eastern Star. She was a current member of the Bella Vista Baptist Church. Mrs. Hurst is loved and survived by a son, Wayne Thomas Hurst and his wife June Hurst; three grandchildren, Max Hurst and Kathryn Anderle, Jana Hurst Cox and husband Gary Cox, and Julie Hurst Malcolm and husband Steve Malcolm; four great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, R.C. "Bud" Logan and wife Pat; two nephews and one niece, and several cousins. She is also survived by two step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Hurst was preceded in death by her sister Maxine Logan Burnside and her husband G.C. Burnside, and by her daughter-in-law Janice Hurst. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, June 18, 2011, at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 Highway 277 South, Abilene. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Abilene Chapter 30 O.E.S., 3137 South 27th, Abilene, Texas 79605.
