Paul Harper

Graveside services for Paul Harper, 89 years old, of Oxford, Miss., and formerly of Greenville, Miss., will be 2 p.m., Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Mulberry Cemetery in England, Ark. He died Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at Baptist Hospital in Oxford, Miss. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, June 17, 2011 at Smith Funeral Home in Greenville and 12 noon until 2 p.m., Saturday at Roller Funeral Home in England, Ark. Mr. Harper was born Feb. 14, 1922 in England, Ark. to Claude and Ila Harper. He grew up in England, Ark., where he attended school and graduated Humnoke High School. He served in WWII with the 8th Air Force serving on B-52 Bombers under the command of Jimmy Stewart. He was a life long farmer beginning in England, Ark., and later moving to Marks, Miss. in 1970 and later moving to Greenville, Miss. in 1979 where he lived until moving to Oxford, Miss. in 2008 to be near his daughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Ila Harper; his brother, Cecil Harper and his wife, Doris Harper in 2005. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Allen Sanders of Oxford, Miss.; his son, Clay Harper of Springdale, Ark.; his brother and sister-in-law, Oran and Billie Harper of England, Ark.; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Rev. David Jimerson will officiate the services.
