Julia Faye Elliott

Julia Faye Elliott, 81, of Stephens, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2011 at the Medical Center of South Arkansas. She was born June 4, 1930 in Ashdown, Arkansas, to William David and Ola (Koiser) Sexton. She was married to the love of her life, Samuel Clark Elliott for 58 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Stephens. She was recognized on "Friendship Sunday" in 1994 for her many years of dedication and service to her church. In 2008, she was honored as "Citizen of the Year" by the Stephens Chamber of Commerce. Julia was a lifelong member of the Ouachita County Homemakers Extension Club. The greatest joys of her life were spending time with her family, sewing, cooking, and her love for the game of basketball. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brothers, Harlan Sexton and Leon Rouse; and her sisters, Geneva Lott, and Nadean Thrash. Julia is survived by her son, David Elliott and wife, Gloria; her daughter, Renee Story and husband, Frankie all of Stephens; four grandchildren, Shane Story and wife, Mona of Stephens, Jason Elliott of Camden, Stacy Wagnon and husband, Robert of El Dorado, and Ashley Morris and husband, Sam of Camden. Seven great grandchildren, Taylor Stinnett, Anna Blair Story, Katelyn Elliott, Marcus Morris, Emma Wagnon, Emily Bennett, and Claire Kendall; sister-in-laws Corrie Perry and Joan Wilson; brother-in-law, Parker Elliott; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church in Stephens with Rev. Cedric Walters officiating. Burial will follow at the Elliott Cemetery.
