Mabelle O. Walthall Brothers, 91, of Chidester, died Monday, February 28, 2011 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Prescott. Mrs. Brothers was born November 1, 1919 in Chidester, the daughter of C.C. and Blanche Hooks Walthall. She was a retired schoolteacher and member of the Assembly of God Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Jim Phillips and Victor Brothers; son, James Richard Phillips; brothers, Jethro Walthall, Woody Walthall, Sam Walthall, and Bennie Walthall. She is survived by her brothers, B.J. Walthall of Chidester, and Donald Walthall of Magnolia; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Graveside services for Mrs. Brothers will be 2 p.m., Wednesday at Bluff City Cemetery with Rev. Ron Kimbell officiating. Proctor Funeral Home of Camden is in charge of arrangements.
