Mary Etta Baker Burson

Mary Etta Baker Burson, 98, of Strong passed away Monday, February 28, 2011 at Oak Ridge Nursing Home. She was born September 18, 1912 in Hickory Flat, MS to Rev. Elijah Alvie Baker and Lucy Jane Wright Baker. Mary was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Strong. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Ernest Clyde "Pete" Burson; four brothers, Guy, Charley, Alvie & Kermit Baker; four sisters, Kiley Goode, Etta Bradshaw, Lura Crump & Lucy Mae Hendrix; grandchildren, Angela Lee, Karla Renee & Lewis Bryan Burson. Survivors include her daughter Dianne Ballard and her husband Robert of Crossett, three sons, Elliott Burson and wife Ann of Strong, and Jerry Burson and wife Sarah of Strong and Mike Burson of Little Rock, Ark.; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, March 3, 2011 at First Baptist Church in Strong with Scott Baker and Scotty Guillot officiating. Burial will follow at Strong Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors. Visitation will be held 5:30-7:30 p.m., Wednesday night at the First Baptist Church in Strong.
