Laurence Wendel

Laurence G. Wendel, age 90, of Mount Vernon, died Friday, March 4, 2011. He was a rural mail carrier for 29 years for Mount Vernon and Enola. Laurence was a veteran of WWII and was a Lutheran. He is survived by his wife, Doris Wendel, of Mount Vernon; two sons, Gordon (Kathy) Wendel of Mount Vernon and Glen (Janice) Wendel of Rose Bud; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Laurence was preceded in death by one grandson. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Monday, March 7, 2011 in the Westbrook Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Oliver Cemetery. www.westbrookfuneralhome.com.
