Albert Baldwin "A.B." Moore Jr., 97, long time resident of Crossett, Arkansas died April 28, 2011 in Richmond, Virginia. He was born May 29, 1913 in Texarkana, Arkansas, the son of Albert Baldwin Moore and Henrietta Hunt Moore. Mr. Moore was a retired employee of Georgia Pacific Corp. and was a past manager of the Crossett Paper Mill and of the Toledo, Oregon Paper Mill. He was the Mayor of Crossett from 1975 to 1978. He was also a Past President of the Crossett Rotary Club, member since 1938 and Past President of the Prairie Country Club of Crossett, a former Kiwanis Man of the Year and a recipient of the Silver Beaver Award for service to the Boy Scouts of America. Mr. Moore was a 1934 chemical engineering graduate of the University of Arkansas where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity, and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Crossett where he had served in many capacities including Chairman of the Board of Trustees and teacher of the Men's Bible Class. Mr. Moore was a World War II veteran of the United States Army, volunteering and serving in Europe until the end of the war. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Mary Marguerite Potts Moore and his youngest son Frank Miles Moore. Mr. Moore's survivors include: Two sons, Albert Baldwin Moore, III and wife Roberta of Salem, Oregon, and Dr. William Francis Moore and wife Patricia of Richmond, Virginia; One daughter, Marian Hunt Moore of Richmond; Two grandsons, Eric Albert Moore of Portland, Oregon, William Albert Moore of Richmond; two granddaughters, Erin Collette Moore of Richmond and Amanda Elisabeth Rich (James) of Salem, Oregon; two great-granddaughters, Elisabeth Marguerite Rich and Victoria Grace Rich of Salem. Mr. Moore is also survived by Barbara Moore Morgan and her children Kerry Phillips, Traci Allen and husband Chuck and their children Jacob and Kennedy Allen all of Crossett. The service will be held Saturday, May 7th at 11:00 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church of Crossett following a private interment at Pinewood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 6th at Jones Funeral Home in Crossett. Memorials may be sent to the Memorial Fund at First United Methodist Church of Crossett, P.O.
