Helen Marie Warren Casteel, 80, of Conway, died May 7, 2011. She was a retired public school teacher and the wife of the late Dr. Charles Casteel, a Methodist minister. She was born April 28, 1931, in Wrens, Ga., to the late John Sharp Warren and Bertha Rainier Ash Warren. She attended school in New York City and in Centreville, Miss. She graduated from Hendrix College in Conway with high honors, and received a master's degree in biochemistry from the University of Oklahoma. While at Hendrix she met Charles Casteel and they married in 1952. She accompanied Charles as they served Methodist churches throughout North Arkansas. She taught school in Dardanelle, Batesville, Mountain Home, and North Little Rock. She is survived by her children, Warren Casteel of Plano, Texas, Gerald Casteel of McKinney, Texas, Sue Casteel of Olathe, Kan., and Laura Campbell of Thibodeaux, La.; grandchildren, Brittany Southerland and Bradley Casteel of McKinney, Texas; great-granddaughter, Olivia Jane Southerland; and an extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edwin Casteel, and her parents. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Conway. Visitation will be Monday from 6–8 p.m. at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway. Interment will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Crestlawn Memorial Park followed by a public memorial service at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Conway.  A reception to celebrate her life will be held at the church following the service.
