BARBARA J. HOLMES WAGGONER of Little Rock died Saturday, May 7, 2011, at Baptist Health Medical Center at the age of 80. A Little Rock resident since 1971, she was born in Knox County, Indiana, on October 28, 1930, and graduated from Bicknell High School, Bicknell, Indiana. On June 2, 1950, she married Bob Waggoner, and he survives her. As a longtime member of First Christian Church and the Believers Sunday School class, Mrs. Waggoner served the church in many capacities including serving on the Kindergarten Committee, volunteering at the Food Pantry, and sewing toys for needy children in the Bless and Stitch Class. An avid former golfer, she had been a member of the Little Rock City, Rebsamen, Burns Park, and Hindman Golf Associations. Surviving with her husband are two daughters, Kathy Kremer (husband Gery) of Lafayette, Indiana, and Pam Pierce (husband Jody) of Little Rock; a daughter-in-law, Barbara C. Waggoner of Lafayette, Indiana; seven grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Waggoner was preceded in death by a son, Tommy L. Waggoner; brothers, Max, Charles, Rex and Billy Jack Holmes; a sister, Juanita Bowers; and parents, Fern and Lyle Holmes. The family will receive friends at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home (501) 224-8300 from 5 until 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 10. A celebration of life service will be at 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 11 at First Christian Church. Interment will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, May 13, at Sandborn Cemetery, Sandborn, Indiana.
