Maxine Attwood

Maxine Attwood, age 92, of Rison, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2011 in Pine Bluff. She was born on February 27, 1919 in Glenwood, Arkansas to the late Tobe and Celia Garrett Hare. She graduated from Glenwood High School and married Malcolm Attwood in 1949. She was a member of Rison United Methodist Church. Mrs. Attwood was a member of the Women's Service Guild and Rison Garden Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm on December 13, 1981; a sister, Marie Fair and a brother, Ray Hare. She is survived by her son, Dr. Mark Attwood and his wife Debi, of Rison; daughter, State Representative Toni Bradford and her husband, Thomas of Watson Chapel; four grandchildren, Renee (Mike) Bennett of Maumelle, Dr. Thomas Hal (Anne) Bradford of Fayetteville, Malcolm Attwood of Hot Springs, Hastings Attwood of Little Rock; six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Buie Funeral Chapel with Reverend Don Johnson, Reverend Glenn Hicks and Brother Wade Totty officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Rison. Pallbearers are Jim Ed Attwood, Jim Attwood, Craig Attwood, Jared Attwood Cliff Hopson and Don Martin. Honorary pallbearers are Doc Blanchard and John Blanchard. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be made to Rison United Methodist Church Building Fund.
