Ira E. "Jr." Pirtle Jr.

Ira E. "Jr." Pirtle Jr., age 91, of Moro Bay, Arkansas died Monday, May 9, at Hillsboro Nursing Home, El Dorado. He was born June 6, 1919 at Moro Bay, Arkansas a son of the late Ira Ellis Pirtle and Gordie Elizabeth Munford Pirtle. He was a graduate of the Hermitage Public School System, a retired employee of the Arkansas Forestry Commission with 28 years of service and a member of Moro Bay Baptist Church. He also farmed and worked in the timber business. Surviving is his wife Catherine Hoyle Pirtle whom he married on February 12, 1944 at Warren, Ark.; five nephews, nine nieces, a special friend Linda Sweeney of Moro Bay, Ark. and their God daughter Karen Hickman Jones of Dallas, Texas. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Pearl Johnson. Funeral services 4 p.m., Thursday, May 12, at Frazer's Chapel.
