Earl James

Mr. Earl James, age 101, of Benton went to be with his Heavenly Father and family members already there on Wednesday May 11, 2011. He was born January 28, 1910 in Saline County. He was a life long member of Gravel Hill Baptist Church and a life long resident of Saline County. Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Izard and Martha Cooper James, his wife of 64 years, Roy Goodwin James, sons, Roland James, Derrel James, grandson, Roger James, infant granddaughter and infant grandson, of Bert and Sharon James, great-great-grandson, Hyatt Ashley Ray, son of Jordan Ray and Jade James, brothers, Farrel and Cari James, sister Beula Ferguson. Survivors, sons and daughters-in-law, Nolan James and his wife Pat, Bert James and wife Sharon, Terry James and wife Dian, daughters-in-law, Ruby James Nalley, Margie James, 21 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday at Gravel Hill Baptist Church with burial at Gravel Hill Cemetery. Minister will be Bro. Gary Gipson. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday at Ashby's. Pallbearers will be grandsons. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Gravel Hill Cemetery Fund.
