Marjorie Marie Oliver, 80, of Hot Springs, Ark., went to her heavenly home May 18, 2011 after fighting a courageous battle with Lou Gehrigs' disease. She was surrounded by family at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Smackover, Ark. She was born May 9, 1931 in Kensett, Ark. to James Ed and Katherine Beene Wheeler. Her mother died when Marjorie was five years old. She was blessed to have the love of her second mother Mellie Wheeler at the age of ten when her father remarried. She was of the Assembly of God faith. Marjorie graduated in May 1949 from Kensett High School, moved to Hot Springs, met James and married in September. She was the love of his life for 62 years. She worked at Hot Springs Florist for many years and she continued to enjoy working with flowers for many special occasions. Marjorie was a lady of beauty not only on the outside but a gracious loving heart on the inside. She dearly loved her family and cherished her friends. She should be remembered as a wonderful, caring, devoted wife and fun loving mother and sister with an unconditional love. Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents; loving step-mother, Mellie Wheeler; brother, Raymond Wheeler; and husband James Oliver. She is survived by her son, Mark Oliver (Holly) of Fayetteville; daughter, Jamie Malone (Danny) of Smackover; sister, Fern Taylor (Bill) of Searcy; brother, Randy Wheeler (Christy) of Houston; grandson, Matthew Taylor of Tulsa; and granddaughter Ali Scudder of Aurora, Colo. A celebration of her life will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home Chapel with Danny Malone officiating. Memorials may be made to Cornerstone Church, P.O. Box 511, Smackover, Ark. 71762. Our hearts are saddened by our loss, but we rejoice in the fact that she is in heaven walking and talking with family, friends, and our Savior - Jesus Christ.
