Lavada Lorene Rudkin Holland, age 78 of Jacksonville, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at Woodland Hills Nursing Home in Jacksonville. She was born August 4, 1932 to the late Joe Ernest and Katie Lee Outlaw Rudkin. On July 26, 1954 she married Lester Holland in Morrilton, Arkansas. Mrs. Holland was employed many years with the PCSSD in the cafeteria area before retiring. She was a longtime member of Life Tabernacle Church where she sang solos for her congregation. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Leonard Harold Rudkin, Ernest Lee Rudkin, Charles Paul Rudkin and Lewis Earl Rudkin. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Lester Holland of Jacksonville; her children, Michael Holland of Jacksonville, Brenda DeJesus of Jacksonville, Rebecca Marvin of Cabot, Charlie Holland of Jacksonville; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; siblings, Maxine Sigler of Opello, Arkansas, Millage Rudkin of Cushing, Oklahoma, Claudia Zink of Agra, Oklahoma, Bobby Rudkin of Bell Buckle, Tennessee; host of nieces and nephews. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be greatly missed. The family wishes to express their gratitude, thanks and appreciation given to Mrs. Holland by Dr. Mark Smith and the entire staff at Woodland Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Friday, May 27, 2011 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Chapel with George Mutton and Clyde Phillips officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be made to Arkansas Hospice, 5600 W. 12th, Little Rock, Arkansas 72204.
