Peter Lawton Petty

Peter Lawton Petty 76, a resident of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away May 24, 2011 at the Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born September 21, 1934 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the son of Lou Fisher and Ruth Lawton Petty. He was a member of Tyler Street Baptist Church. Pete pastored several churches in Arkansas and Oklahoma. He served in the Mission Department of Arkansas Baptist State Convention in Little Rock. Survivors include his wife, Bonita Miller Petty of the home; three daughters, Ruth Helen Poyor (Scott), Ronita Yvette Blok (Jim) and Rebecca Eilen Stipe (Richard);one son, Harley Petty (Leigh Ann); two sisters, Mary Lou Hewitt and Blanche Johnstone; 11 grandchildren; six great-grand children; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, May 26, 2011, 10 a.m., at the Geyer Springs Baptist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas with Don Moore officiating. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until service time at the church. Interment will be held at the Prairie Grove Cemetery Pavilion at 5 p.m. The family will receive friends at the Cemetery from 4:30 until service time.
