Arthur Kirby Johnson

Arthur Kirby Johnson, of Cabot, was called home to the Lord May 25, 2011. He was born June 8, 1921 in Little Rock to the late John Arthur Johnson and Pearl Knighton Johnson Kirby was a self employed business man, retired from his furniture and carpet business in North Little Rock. As a life-long member of the American Legion in retirement he devoted his life to America's Veterans. He proudly served as the Veteran's Service Officer for Lonoke County for 10 years and as a past president of the AARP, he actively lobbied Washington, D.C. on behalf of retired Veterans. Kirby is survived by his son Steven Kirby Johnson currently living in Liliaon Cebu, Philippines and his daughter Tina Johnson Klinkenberg of Saint Augustine, Fla. He was blessed with three grandchildren, Ryan, Angela and Dereck, three great-grandchildren, his Church Family, United Methodist Church of Cabot, friends and loved ones. Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Cabot United Methodist Church 11 a.m. with visitation at 10 a.m. Interment Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
