Jerry Wayne Vandiver

Jerry Wayne Vandiver, 63, of Batesville died Saturday, May 28, 2011. He was born in Searcy Dec. 21, 1947, the son of Wayne and Florence Cooper Vandiver. Jerry was a Viet Nam US Army Veteran and retired manager of the Employment Security Office in Batesville. Jerry attended the Mount Zion Baptist Church. Surviving is his mother, Florence Vandiver, Searcy; wife, Linda Dupere Vandiver; daughters, Brittany Doyle and her husband Jody, Saffell, Ark., Leslie Oliver and her husband Brady, Jonesboro; stepchildren, Sheila Bennett, her husband Danny, Jennifer Howell, her husband Jody both of Searcy and Jeremy Edwards, Judsonia; grandchildren, Bryson and Summer Doyle, Brayden and Garrett Oliver, Amanda and Adam Bennett, Cassidy and Peighton Howell; great-grandsons, Maddox Howell, and Zeke and Zach Holloway; sisters, Carol Bonner, her husband Robert, Teresa Shewman, her husband Billy, Becca Robinson, her husband Leon all of Searcy and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and a nephew, Brian Wayne Bonner. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel.
