MARION "JUNIOR" AHART, 81, of Little Rock, was released after a lengthy illness with Alzheimer's disease on May 29, 2011. He was born in Little Rock on March 24, 1930 to Marion and Evelyn Taylor Ahart and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He graduated from Little Rock Junior College and attended Arkansas State University and MIT. He was employed by the Federal Government for 35 years with Social Security where he was Dallas Regional Director before retirement. Marion founded several stock clubs in District Offices while he was with Social Security. He was a member of Axe Memorial Methodist Church in Garland, Texas. Preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Shelby and Odell Ahart and sister, Beatrice Helf, he is survived by his wife, Joyce Ahart; daughter and son-in-law, Lynda and Charles of Point Venture, Texas; and grandson, Chase Mitchell of Commerce, Texas. Services will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), officiated by Dr. Bob Dunaway. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander. Memorials may be made to Hospice Home Care, 2200 S. Bowman Rd., Little Rock, Ark., 72211.
