Minnie Bishop, 90, of Corning, formerly of North Little Rock, passed away Nov. 8, 2011 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo. Born July 17, 1921 in Biscoe, Mrs. Bishop was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. On May 22, 1937 she was united in marriage to William "Bill" Bishop. He preceded her in death. Survivors include three daughters Caffie Chambers of Evansville, Ind., Doris (Bill) Wiedeman of Corning, and Judy Rio of North Little Rock; two sons, James "Monty" Bishop of Duncan, Okla. and Johnny Bishop of North Little Rock; one sister, Callie Hamilton of Biscoe; 24 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, Bill Bishop; parents, John and Mittie Bell (Pegram) Stokes; four children, Claude Bishop, Carl "Buddy" Bishop, Terry Bishop, and Glenda Dandridge; three brothers, Loyd, Carl, and Archie Stokes; and one sister, Addie Mae English. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Cabot. Arrangements are being handled by Ermert Funeral Home in Corning. Online condolences: www.ermertfuneralhome.com.
