Charles Elton Duncan 78 of Redfield passed from this earth on November 8, 2011. He was born in Redfield, Ark. on May 14, 1933. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Thomas and Esther (Blacklaw) Duncan, of Redfield, one brother Dewey Edward Duncan of North Little Rock, and one grandchild Kenneth Albert Hawk Jr. of Texas. He leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Frances Duncan, and four children, Loretta Darby of Little Rock, Lynn Rupe of Hensley, Jim (Tracy) Duncan of Redfield, and Karen Davis of Redfield. Two brothers Larry (Joanne) Duncan of East End, James H. (Concepcion) Duncan of Redfield. He also leaves nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one more due to arrive later in November. There are also a host of nieces, nephews and friends. If you weren't friends when you met him, you would be before he got through talking to you. He was a professional truck driver, as well as an owner-operator for many years, where he made friends from coast to coast. After he retired he opened a small pallet repair company (Seagull Enterprises), which he ran for 10 years. Elton was a member of Forrest Tower Baptist Church. He was also a former member and deacon of Orion Missionary Baptist Church, A Past Master of Gavel Lodge 532 F&AM, Past Worthy Patron of Faith Chapter 225 Order of the Eastern Star, a 32nd Degree Mason of the Grand Lodge of Arkansas, and also belonged to the Scimitar Shrine where he was able to sponsor several children. Pallbearers will be Dan Davis, Donald Davis, Seth Hawk, Justin Duncan, Kody Duncan and Jim Ulrey. Honorary Pall Bearers are David Stadler, Derrick Williams and Brent Weatherly. Visitation will be at North Little Rock Funeral Home on Friday night from 6 to 8 p.m.. Funeral service will be at North Little Rock Funeral Home on Saturday at 2 p.m. Interment will be at Orion Cemetery (off Grant Hwy. 58) in Redfield.
