Annie Pearl Taylor

Annie Pearl Hoover Taylor, 88, of Glendale, died Friday, Nov. 11, 2011, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff, after a brief illness. Mrs. Taylor was born Feb. 26, 1923, in Glendale, Ark., to W. V. and Eva Wilson Hoover. She was raised in Glendale and graduated from Glendale High School. She attended Arkansas A&M at Monticello and later received her Bachelor's of Education from Arkansas State Teachers College in Conway. Annie Hoover married Norris Reed 'Mickey' Taylor on Dec. 18, 1943, in Bossier City, La. Mrs. Taylor was an elementary school teacher and taught in several different school systems, including Watson Chapel, Grapevine, Searcy, and Star City before retiring in 1983. She was a member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church. Mrs. Taylor is survived by her husband of 67 years, Mickey Taylor, of Star City; two daughters, Charlotte Ainsworth and husband, Lynn, of Foley, Ala., and Shelia Woodfin and husband, Max, of Austin, Texas; grandchildren Todd Stitt and wife Denice, of McGehee, Dabbs McGregor Woodfin, of Hampden-Sydney, Va., and Ran McLean Woodfin, of Los Angeles, Calif.; and great-grandchildren Taylor and Drew Stitt of McGehee. Mrs. Taylor considered her step-grandchildren, Lee Ann and Randy Brugger, Monica and Roger Popp, and step great-grandchildren, Staci and Ryan Brugger, a special part of the family. She was preceded in death by her parents and eleven older siblings. The family will receive friends Sunday, Nov. 13, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Robinson & Son in Pine Bluff. Funeral services will be Monday, Nov. 14, 2011, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Robinson & Son, with Reverend Garry Wiles officiating. Interment will follow at Grapevine Cemetery.
