R.K. (Roe) McCasland
R.K. (Roe) McCasland passed away October 25, 2011 at the age of 78. He was born September 7, 1933 in Chatham, La. to Robert Wallace and Annie Davis McCasland. He graduated with a BS in Forestry from Louisiana Tech University. He was employed by the Southern Pine Inspection Bureau for 13 years and Potlatch Corporation for 28 years. Until his medical retirement he worked as Manager of the Ozan Unit in Prescott, Ark. He was known in the lumber industry as one of the best saw mill men in the South for his expertise in lumber manufacturing. He served on the SPIB Board of Governors and as past president of the Gurdon, Ark. Hoo-Hoo International. He also served in an official capacity for many other organizations. Those who knew him will remember his strong work ethic, commitment to God and his love and dedication to his family.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Ramona Culbreth McCasland of San Antonio, Texas, daughter Monica Bradley and husband John of San Antonio, Texas, son, Kinson McCasland of Conway, Ark., grandsons, Timothy Bradley of San Antonio, Texas, Connor McCasland and Chase McCasland of Conway, Ark., sisters Mary Chloe Bransford of Ruston, La. and Eloise Salsbury of Greensburg, Ky., nephew, Donald Mack Salsbury of Brecksville, Ohio, niece, Sherry Vincent of Cave City, Ky., nephew Kyle Salsbury of Campbellsville, Ky. as well as many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Honoring his wishes his cremated remains will be interred in Lisbon United Methodist Church Cemetery, Lisbon, La. following a private family service. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
